Tuesday Brunch

I just wanted to share a few pictures from our brunch date today with two of my best friends, Lani and Maranda, and Lani's adorable girls, Dae'yana and Jade. Love you girls!

Fun fact: I could have brunch dates everyday. :)

Raegans Big Girl | Toddler | Bedroom // Parisian Chic

I have been working on Raegans big girl bedroom for a few months now. I wasn't really sure which direction to head in until a few weeks ago. As I've said, ever since we went to Paris I have fallen in love with all things Parisian, especially Parisian themed home decor. So now I am planning a sweet Parisian Chic theme for Raegans big girl bedroom, and also planning to decorate my kitchen and dining nook into a parisian french cafe. Of course I will share those ideas in an upcoming blog post. She's turning two in September so now is the perfect time to start purchasing everything for her new room. If I start now I should have it finished in time for her birthday!

I'm so crushing on that Monet canvas, I've loved his art since I was a little girl, his work speaks to me and I've always been able to identify a Monet. This will probably be my favorite piece in her new room, it will always remind me a little of my childhood. So beautiful!
I kind of freaked out last week when I saw the new fall bedding collections Land of Nod released! The French Balloon collection was everything I needed to finish putting Raegans room together. I am dying over the macaron bedding and and that rug! So adorable. The Bonjour pillow is perfect and the Lenny Lind bed is a must. I l'amour, l'amour, l'amour Land of Nod!
The dress up chest is also a perfect addition to her room because this little girl LOVES to dress up. Tinker bell makes an appearance at least once a day in our house. ;)

Here's a tour of her "nursery" now. We actually just moved into a new building in our apartment complex a couple of months ago so the room has remained pretty bare since I knew I was changing it at the end of the summer anyway. The nursery we had done for her when she was born had pink walls and this butterfly mobile hanging above her crib. I loved the girly-ness and simplicity of her nursery but honestly had never finished it to be quite what I had always envisioned. So I am excited to have another chance to design her room to be everything I want. I still love the butterfly mobile but know it will not look right in her new room. I'm thinking of putting it up in her playroom over the teepee.

I can't wait to share pictures of our progress with her new room over the next couple of months! Stay tuned. :)
Hope you all have an awesome Friday and happy weekend! Xo

Diy Jean Shorts // Toddler Style

As I was cleaning out Raegans closet yesterday I found three pairs of baby gap jeans I had bought her months ago that she never had the chance to wear. I remember when I bought them I had put them on her only to find out they were too big and there was no way she could comfortably wear them. The length was perfect but the waist was too big, even with adjusting the elastic.
#SkinnyMinnieProbz (don't ya wish you had the same problem!?)
I put them away and figured she would grow into them. Fast forward 6 months later after coming across the same jeans and once again trying them on for size, the waist fit but the length? Lets just say that there's no way I'm letting my kid wear capri jeans... are capris even still a thing??
Anyway, I had an idea.
I grabbed my fabric scissors and made the cutest little cuffed jean shorts that now fit her perfectly!

What do you think?! Of course I love shopping and buying Raegan new clothes, but lets be honest, kids clothes are expensive // especially jean shorts! Any way I can get an extra bang for my buck, I'll take it! Give it a try, and if you mess up...whatever, they didn't fit anyway! :)

Our Fourth of July

I woke up a year older on Friday. I can't believe I'm 24! EEK!
My morning kicked off with a Starbucks latte in bed. My man knows the way to my heart so well. :)
None of us are big breakfast eaters, so I put together a super easy and festive fruit plate to start our day.

One of my best friends surprised me with flowers and cupcakes! We enjoyed sparkling water with star shaped, fruit infused ice cubes (super easy and so fun and festive!) with vodka cocktails at noon // because you only have one birthday a year! ;) And devoured a whole jar of pineapple salsa between the two of us. The day was off to a great start!

We had planned to spend the day at the pool, but the temp never got hot enough for me to want to spend the afternoon poolside. So I got the best news when my best friend who just moved to Chicago called me to tell me she was driving down to see me!

After lunch and a few more cocktails.. Raegan helped me blow my birthday candles out!

She is seriously THE sweetest little helper!

After cake we all got ready to head downtown Indianapolis to watch the fireworks! The fireworks didn't start until 10 which is 2 hours past Raegans bedtime so you can guess her reaction to the show. ;)
She was exhausted and had zero interest in watching fireworks. Hopefully she'll enjoy them more next year!

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!

Paris Obsessed

Amis Heureux Mardi!
Ever since Raegan and I went to Paris just a few weeks ago we have been obsessed with all things parisian. I fell in love with Paris the second I arrived. The cobblestone streets, the beautiful architecture, the flower boxes on the windows and the countless flower shops through out the city, the cafe's, the fashion and shops, the culture, the language and the history. I am in no way capable of describing the beauty that IS Paris. It is truly a magical city, a city that will always be a part of me since my visit. The City of Lights and Love.
While we were there we visited the Pont des Amoureux love lock bridge and Raegan and I locked our mommy/daughter love, ate macarons from the world famous Laudree, took several walks to the Eiffel Tower, dined in the Eiffel Tower, visited Notre Dame and Versailles, and of course did plenty of shopping at the Champs-Elysees and Galeries Lafayette.

Since we've been home Raegan and I reflect on our Paris trip daily. I ask her if she remembers going to Paris and she nods her head yes and shouts Bonjour! The. Cutest. We read our favorite books about Paris.

And play with Raegan's "night night little mouse in a box" approximately 4,000 times a day that she got at the cutest children's shop in Paris.

She also gives her mouse approximately 4,000 kisses a day. Such a good little mama.

While online shopping at Anthro I came across Madeline Says Merci and couldn't put it in my cart fast enough! The perfect book to commemorate Raegan's first trip to Paris. She also says merci and it is seriously the sweetest thing I've ever heard.
These are also perfect for our home since we've developed quite the macaron obsession since having them for the first time in Paris from Laudree // Laudree: The Sweet Recipes and Laudree: Entertaining.
Isn't Anthropologie just the best?!

Who else has been to Paris?
Is there a city you've visited that you fell in love with, and felt the city fall right back in love with you? I'd love for you to share! Xo
